Finn Balor's LGBTQ-inspired entrance at WrestleMania 34 might not have happened if it wasn't for Stephanie McMahon.

Finn Balor has become something of a mold-breaker in WWE. First of all, considering how some NXT call-ups have been treated by Vince McMahon, Balor's blockbuster arrival on Raw was unexpected. On night one of his main roster stay, the Irishman defeated Roman Reigns in the main event. A little more than a month later, he became the first ever Universal Champion.

Even though a shoulder injury sustained during that win derailed his ascension somewhat, Balor is now back on the right track. Last week on Raw, the former NXT Champion booked his spot opposite Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble this Sunday. Surprisingly, there are rumors currently circulating that The Beast handpicked Balor to be his opponent. Praise indeed if true.

Perhaps the biggest way Balor has broken ground in wrestling, however, is how he has embraced and included the LGBTQ community. The wrestling business is renowned for being behind the times when it comes to political correctness and inclusion, and Balor is going about changing that. That was evident via his WrestleMania entrance last year. During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, Balor shed a little light on how exactly it came about.

"That was something I’ve believed in for a very long time...it was perfect timing that it just happened to be the biggest match of my career that I got to launch it," Balor explained. He also revealed that he had suggested the idea a number of times only to be continually shot down. It wasn't until Stephanie McMahon got wind of it and made sure that the idea in Balor's head came to fruition.

For those of you who haven't seen the entrance, or have forgotten it, you can check it out above. It featured a number of fans from the LGBTQ community all wearing Balor's rainbow Balor Club t-shirt. It might not get as much TV time as it did this time last year, but it did feature on the grandest stage of them all and is still available to buy at WWE Shop.
