Floyd Mayweather is actually considering going turning to MMA for his next big payday and fighting in a UFC bout, potentially against Conor McGregor.

It sounds almost too absurd to be true, but many said the same thing about McGregor when he stepped into the boxing arena and showed the world he actually could go toe-to-toe with one of the world's best boxers.

According to the voice of the UFC, Joe Rogan, Mayweather isn't just considering making the jump, he's bragging that he'll make $1 billion to do so. Rogan has confirmed, after speaking with UFC President Dana White, that Mayweather is in talks with UFC and wants a deal for a huge multi-fight contract that would undoubtedly destroy anything previous UFC pay-per-view numbers and officially make Mayweather a billionaire.

Rogan explained on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, "Floyd talked about it. This is one thing I can tell you: Dana told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC. Like legitimately. I texted him, I go 'Is Floyd really talking about fighting MMA? He goes 'Yeah, he's f****** crazy. I told him he'd get killed. But he's still talking about doing it."

Mayweather himself has spoken about the topic of making the jump on social media and there's no doubt McGregor himself would accept the challenge and be part of what could be more MMA revenue than has ever been recorded in MMA history. McGregor would have the home-field advantage and many believe destroy the now-retired boxer.

Just when you think Mayweather and McGregor had done all there was to do and fans had explored all the options there were to explore, Mayweather throws a monkey wrench into the whole thing. It's something he's incredibly good at doing and even if this fight (or series of fights never happens), he's drawn an awful lot of attention to the idea.
