It appears WWE has not completely forgotten about The Forgotten Sons. After controversial comments made by one of the members of the group, the company is repackaging the team right after pulling plans for their push towards the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake, Steve Cutler, and Jaxson Ryker) were reportedly scheduled to feud with The New Day for the Smackdown tag team titles and receive a big push on the blue brand. Unfortunately, one member, Jaxson Ryker, decided to take to social media and post a pro-Trump post that caught a lot of other wrestlers by surprise. The tweet was especially ill-timed considering many WWE performers were taking a stand in favor of the Black Lives Matter movement. It left Ryker alienated from much of the locker room, including his own partners.

Since being pulled off of WWE programming, Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro have taken the Sons' spot and now it appears WWE is going to pull al the Forgotten Sons promos and take the team in an entirely different direction.

According to Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co, there is talk of Blake and Cutler being repackaged with a new gimmick, with Ryker being removed altogether. This isn't just as a punishment to Ryker, but because WWE doesn’t want to use the Forgotten Sons gimmick on television during the current political climate in the United States.

Davis explained:

“I don’t know when they will return to WWE TV but one person I spoke with says that their current gimmick won’t work now because of what is going on in the real world with the protests around the country.”

Forgotten Sons

Probably Best For Blake and Cutler

Whether you agree with Ryker or not, his tag partners didn't seem to appreciate his opinions, and splitting apart is probably the best thing for them in general. As more and more social media posts from Ryker become public, his teammates distancing themselves from any residual effects that may come from the controversy is wise.

Whatever gimmick they do get likely means they could be in for a long build back to notoriety but based on what we've heard, there's no heat on Blake or Cutler They're probably looking to keep it that way.
