On the most recent edition of SK Wrestling's UnSKripted with Dr. Chris Featherstone, former WWE Superstar Mike Knox discussed working with CM Punk in WWE as part of the company's ECW brand. Initially, Knox said he wasn’t much of a fan of CM Punk yet changed his mind after working with him.

"It was awesome working with Punk. I never really got to work with him before that. We'd both been bounced around for a long time, maybe eight-ten years before where we finally got up to finally meet each other. We never met. We never played around in the ring or nothing," he said.

Knox, who had watched footage of CM Punk during his time in Deep South Wrestling, was not impressed by the wrestler. However, after their first match, Knox came to respect the former WWE Champion's in-ring work.

"I remember the first time that we wrestled. I missed like two or three planes, and it was just one of those nightmare days. I thought I was never going to get there. I was changing in the car as they were driving me to the arena because the music was on and he was already out in the ring, and I had to jump out of the car and run,” he revealed.

“Then I went out there, and we did our first match, and I was a fan of his ever since. Ah, Oh, that's what it is! Okay, duh, alright!" he added.

Knox left WWE in 2010 and returned to the indie circuit before signing with Impact in 2012. He made his television debut on the January 3, 2013, as a member of the villainous Aces & Eights stable after being unmasked by Kurt Angle.

In 2015, he left Impact and made his debut for Japanese promotion Inoki Genome Federation. He picked up his first win in the promotion on May 5 when he defeated Daichi Hashimoto. On June 27, he formed an "anti-IGF" stable with Hideki Suzuki, Erik Hammer and Kevin Kross. He has since returned to the indie circuit.
