It doesn't sound like Peyton Royce is wasting time making plans for her professional wrestling career post-WWE. She was one of a handful of stars WWE released just over a week ago, but among the first to set the wheels in motion on what looks like a new ring name.

The former star known as Peyton Royce has moved to trademark the name “Cassie Lee”. She's changed her social media profiles to go along with it.

Her actual name is Cassie McIntosh and she formally filed for this trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The expectation is that she intends to use the name when she knows up for whatever wrestling company brings her aboard. Most are assuming that will be AEW, since her husband Shawn Spears is an active member of the roster. That remains to be seen.

The Cassie Lee moniker was filed to cover trademarks for various forms of merchandise and for appearances and services related to professional wrestling and sports entertainment. This is what makes us think her plan is to go by this name moving forward.

A Callback To Her Old Name

Royce debuted back in 2009 and before signing with WWE and becoming a member of the Iiconics, went by the name KC Cassidy. As part of her first few appearances in NXT, she went by the name Cassie. That was later switched to Peyton Royce in August of that year.

WWE was rumored to have big plans for her after she split from her tag team partner Billie Kay, but those plans never materialized. The duo was seemingly broken up for no apparent reason. Even Kay, who was getting television time was released as part of a group that include both members of the tag team, along with Samoa Joe, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Kalisto, Wesley Blake, Bo Dallas, Mojo Rawley and Tucker.

Hopefully, WWE didn't send Royce's belongings to her in a trash bag.
