Former WWE Superstar MVP recently opened up about when he's going to stop wrestling and what's next for him.

All too often, wrestlers and fans believe that being in WWE is the be-all and end-all of making it in the business. The truth is that some performers are happy to never compete for Vince McMahon, and if you're there one day only to be fired or released, it doesn't necessarily mean that your in-ring career has to be over.

Someone who knows that all too well is former WWE Superstar MVP. The former United States Champion competed in WWE for five years, not only winning singles titles but also becoming a Tag Team Champion alongside Matt Hardy. Many fans still believe that he should have been a World Champion in WWE, however, he unfortunately never managed to reach that pinnacle.

When MVP left WWE in 2010 that did not mark the end of his wrestling career. Far from it. A year later he was competing in New Japan, after that he went on to Impact Wrestling, then Lucha Underground, and he still wrestles on the independent circuit today at the age of 44. He has realized that his in-ring career is starting to wind down now, however, and recently spoke to The Mirror about what's next.

"I always said that I was going to retire at 45, and I'll be 45 in October," revealed MVP, who added, "I am ready to move into the next phase of my career, which would be motivational speaking." The pro wrestler certainly has a lot to talk about. Not only has he been pretty much everywhere that there is to go over the course of his 16-year wrestling career, but all of that came after he spent some time in prison.

Present day fans who experienced little to none of MVP's time with WWE might not be aware of how good he really is. While he admitted in the interview referenced above that he has no regrets about not becoming a World Champion in WWE, it's hard to argue that he didn't deserve at least one run at the top. Hopefully, he won't hang up his wrestling boots quite yet but if and when he does, he clearly knows what he wants to do next.
