While it's not likely to happen, former WWE Superstar Sean Waltman thinks WWE should go the less popular route and have Dolph Ziggler beat Goldberg at this Sunday's SummerSlam pay-per-view.
During his X-Pac 12360 show, Waltman discussed his thoughts on Raw and said the only thing he wanted to talk about was the Goldberg vs. Dolph thing. He said, "Goldberg got a good reaction coming out, so that's a good sign. That means this very well may work as designed."It'll be really good, as long as people dig it."
What Waltman was likely referring to was the fact that there was a chance fans would not react kindly to WWE bringing back Goldberg after the disaster that was his match versus The Undertaker at Super ShowDown. The Undertaker returned quickly and did a good job or reshaping the sour taste he left in the collective mouths of the WWE Universe. This is Goldberg's chance to do the same and, as Waltman notes, at least fans seem open to it.
Waltman did suggest another direction though for the match and one most people don't believe will happen. He said he knows most fans are predicting a victory for Goldberg, but Waltman explained why he'd like to see Dolph get the win.
"I would like to see Dolph win this," Waltman started. Calling it an excellent gesture, he explained, "Since this is a work and everything, and one shouldn't have too big of an ego, maybe it would be good to give back to the business and leave Dolph better off than when he started this."
What This Means
Will Ziggler get the win like Waltman would like? No. In fact, most people would be shocked if this match lasted longer than a few minutes. If it does, it will be because Ziggler will be taking solid bump after solid bump for Goldberg to make him look like a machine.
