San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman has wasted no time taking shots at the Seattle Seahawks - the organization he spent seven years with that was highlighted by a Super Bowl 48 championship.

But Seattle defensive end Frank Clark -  who spent three seasons with Sherman - won't have any of it this time. Following the Seahawks' 21-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, Clark responded to some recent trash talk from Sherman.

"At the end of the day, this is my team now," Clark said, via Mike Vorel of the Seattle Times. "This is my defense. Richard Sherman and his era is over here. If he’s got anything to say about our defense, he can say it on the field...and we’re 1-0 against the San Francisco 49ers this year. "

Clark's comments were in response to Sherman saying the Seahawks defense is "middle of the road." Seattle looked like a championship-caliber defensive unit on Monday, holding Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota offense to just seven points.

The Seahawks were the NFL's top scoring defense every year from 2012 to '15. They've taken a couple of steps back over the years, but this current unit has been vastly underrated all year.

Seattle has the sixth best scoring defense (20.5 allowed per game). They've registered 33 sacks and have recorded 21 turnovers this season - tied for eighth-most in the NFL this season.

And this is a team that no longer fields either member member from the Legion of Boom era, with Earl Thomas suffering a season-ending leg fracture back in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Clark's Seahawks now sit at 8-5 on the season, while Sherman's 49ers are tied with the Oakland Raiders for the NFL's worst record at 3-10. So yeah, it's safe to say that Clark wins the latest trash talking battle involving Sherman.

What This Means

Sherman has been highly critical of the Seahawks since his release earlier in the offseason, saying the organization lost its "way," and now calling their defense a "middle of the road" unit.

The future Hall of Famer also called out Russell Wilson two weeks ago, telling reporters he saw his former quarterback throw five interceptions in a single game. But right now, Wilson, Clark and the Seahawks have the last laugh on Sherman.
