Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore will be 36 years of age when the 2019 campaign rolls around, and there's no guarantee he'll be able to play at a high level again after suffering a season-ending foot injury.

But despite the age, injuries and mileage on his body, Gore is motivated to return to the field for a 15th season in 2019 - per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Gore had another productive season with the Dolphins, once again turning back the clock and looking nothing like a player in his mid-30s. Gore rushed for 722 yards on 156 carries. Gore averaged an impressive 4.6 yards per carry and added 12 receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown.

The future Hall of Famer sits fourth all-time in career rushing yards with 14,748, and he's tied for the 22nd-most career rushing touchdowns with 77. Gore's longevity goes unmatched, as it's nearly unforeseen for a running back to produce at a high level for more than 10 years.

Gore turned out to be a terrific add for the offense of Dolphins' head coach Adam Gase. Renowned for his strong leadership skills, Gore had Miami in playoff contention prior to his season-ending injury.

Because of this, the Dolphins could consider bringing back Gore for the 2019 season, giving that he wouldn't cost that much and fit nicely in their offense. He was an excellent complement to the flashy Kenyan Drake, who has broken out as a top-flight playmaker in Miami.

What This Means

Even though most teams try to avoid going with running back in their 30s, Gore has been one of the best and most consistent rushers over the last decade and a half. He could very well be one of the most sought-after running backs in 2019.

The Dolphins would be smart to bring back Gore for another year, given his leadership and ability to still produce like a No. 1 running back.
