The wounds are still fresh and it might not be fun to talk about, but with Brodie Lee now gone, what is the future of the Dark Order faction in AEW? A lot changed in a matter of days and it's fair to ask if the group can be what it was without its leader?

Moving on with the Dark Order is possible after the passing of Jon Huber, aka Brodie Lee. That said, it will need to be done tastefully and there will be challenges ahead. After Wednesday's Dynamite tribute show, the faction changed in a lot of ways and what AEW does next could be key to the group's future.

For example, Wednesday's show put the group in a role they weren't accustomed to -- they weren't heels. With every member of the group in a match and with fans cheering on their success because of their connection to Lee, how easy will it be to move them back into a heel role? Frankly, it could be challenging.

While Wednesday's show isn't an indication of what the group will be as television characters, fans have now seen the Dark Order in a way they were never presented before. They were emotional, they were hurt and they missed their friend. Going back to acting as they normally did might not be so easy.

So too, does the group replace Lee as the leader? If they try, that could be met with backlash from fans and potentially members of the group who may not believe a Lee replacement is the right course of action.

Evil Uno could take the reigns again -- he was the leader before Brodie Lee's arrival. But, would the group be able to grow and be as impactful under his leadership? For months now, he's been booked as an underling, and one that wasn't very well respected at that.

Who Could Even Be a New Leader?

Perhaps Matt Hardy is the guy for this job, if AEW is looking to fill it. He was the early candidate for the role until AEW took Hardy in a different direction. That direction hasn't exactly panned out and Hardy is being viewed as one of the WWE crossovers who hasn't done much with the opportunity.

Even still, if you go that route, what the Dark Order does and says next is extremely important to how the group is received.
