Gail Kim Sounds Off On Sasha Banks Possibly Leaving The WWE

Ever since Bayley and Sasha Banks dropped the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35, the latter has been reportedly very upset and angry with her place in WWE.

As you've likely heard by now, Banks tried "quitting" WWE when she found out at the last minute that her and Bayley would lose the Tag Team titles to The IIconics at WrestleMania 35.

It was later reported by Brad Shepard that Banks told someone in WWE that she wasn't planning to appear this week. This report came after she unfollowed WWE on Twitter and began following the new rival AEW promotion. On top of that, Banks canceled her appearance on the Wendy Williams Show following WrestleMania.

A fan asked former WWE Women's Champion Gail Kim on Twitter if she thinks Banks will wind up leaving the company. Kim said she's heard the rumors but remains skeptical of it actually happening.

Of course, Kim can probably relate to what Banks is feeling and going through right now. The former left WWE in August of 2011, purposely eliminating herself in a women's battle royal match and quitting the company shortly thereafter.

It was Kim's final appearance with the company, and promised she wouldn't go back to WWE. Kim was unhappy with the lack of push for the women's wrestlers, and she wound up finding plenty of success in TNA/Impact. She won seven Knockouts Championships and was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame in 2016.

Banks was pushed as one of the top female superstars following her promotion to the main roster, enjoying a run with the Raw Women's Championship. But WWE has stopped pushing Banks ever since. Simply losing the Tag Team titles may have been the last straw for Banks.

What This Means

Unless something changes, all signs point to Banks eventually leaving the WWE. She's seemingly gone great lengths to show her unhappiness, and AEW would likely offer her far better opportunities. We'll get a good indicator of how this all plays out in the coming weeks.
