Goldberg returned to the WWE ring for the first time in two years at Super ShowDown last Friday, where he lost to The Undertaker via pinfall.

The match was considered a massive disappointment by countless fans and pundits, and for good reason. There were numerous botches throughout the match, and Goldberg was concussed after crashing headfirst into a turnbuckle.

Given his age (52), injury and poor quality of the match, one might wonder if that's it for the 2018 Hall of Fame inductee. But Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com suggested that unless WWE were to "medically disqualify him," Goldberg may wish "to come back and having at least one more match so he's happy with the final bout."

It's hard to see Goldberg willingly retire after a match like that against Undertaker, but as Johnson suggested, it could come down to WWE allowing him to compete again. Goldberg botched a Tombstone Piledriver on Undertaker, and both were fortunate to not have suffered serious injuries. On top of that, there was poorly executed Chokeslam, and you could get the sense right away that the match was going to disappoint.

It was reported that after the match, Undertaker and Goldberg engaged in a heated confrontation backstage. The argument reportedly centered around the legends "accusing the other of being unsafe," according to Brad Shepard of Oh, You Didn't Know. According to the report, WWE officials had to step in and put a stop to the argument.

WWE took the risk and believed that the two superstars would be able to put on a good match, even though Goldberg and Undertaker hadn't wrestled in two years and seven months, respectively. One must believe the company will now think twice about asking two part-timers to headline a pay-per-view show again after this.

What This Means

Goldberg certainly deserves to go out on a better note than this, and WWE will probably give him that chance. Keep in mind that Goldberg's bouts traditionally end within a couple of minutes (squash matches), so he can easily do it again without putting his body at risk. We'll find out soon enough if he gets one more match.
