Goldberg is among the many wrestling legends that will be returning at the next event in Saudi Arabia on June 7, and there's one superstar that appears to be the likely opponent for the Hall of Famer.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Ringside News), suggests that Goldberg could up against Bobby Lashley, since the two "have been going back-and-forth on social media." Nothing has been confirmed as of now, although one would expect WWE to start finalizing the card soon so that they can build up towards the matches.

When WWE announced that Goldberg would be returning to the ring, Lashley took to Twitter and issued a short and sweet response, which led to this response from the former WCW star:

Goldberg and Lashley - two dominant and physically-gifted athletes - would certainly put on quite the match. Goldberg is a former professional football player who "squashed" many opponents throughout his career, while Lashley also has a strong MMA background.

Otherwise, it's anybody's guess who WWE would pit Goldberg against. Perhaps they'd rekindle his rivalry with Brock Lesnar, or have him go up against another legend like The Undertaker. It should be noted that Goldberg's deal with WWE is a one-off, so the event in Saudi Arabia likely won't be the start of a new storyline for the 2018 Hall of Fame inductee.

After a 12-year absence, Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 and rekindled his old rivalry with Lesnar. The former also embarked on a brief run with the Universal Championship before dropping it to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. Goldberg would thank the fans for welcoming him back and hasn't wrestled since, but he'll make another special and highly anticipated return in less than a month now.

What This Means

Lashley would be an interesting opponent for Goldberg, since both have knacks for destroying the competition in the ring. Of course, Goldberg was never one to put on long matches, so you do wonder if this would be a squash victory for either he or Lashley. At any rate, we can probably expect a buildup for this match to take place soon.
