Rumors surfaced after the poorly-received Goldberg vs. Undertaker match at Super ShowDown that the two Superstars got into a shouting match. Apparently, that is not true.

According to a source from PWInsider, there were a number of WWE staff who were in Saudi Arabia for Super ShowDown and they quickly shot the rumor down when asked about it.

The news that Goldberg did suffer a concussion seems to be true. Goldberg himself tweeted that he'd knocked himself out during the WWE Super ShowDown loss to The Undertaker and apologized to fans for letting them down since the company needed to quickly end the bout. The former Universal Champion and WCW star thought he could finish the match and suggested the poorly executed moves and finish was because he'd overestimated what he could still do after hitting a post head first.

Goldberg was busted open in the match (bleeding in WWE being something they now frown upon) and both he and The Undertaker couldn't lift each other or properly do their finishing maneuvers. Still, while Undertaker was clearly disappointed in the match, the rumors he got into a heated exchange with Goldberg are not true.

What This Means

Perhaps the assumed altercation backstage comes from two reputations of larger-than-life performers. Goldberg is known to be extremely hard on himself and wants to put on a good performance. Undertaker is known as a leader in the locker room and the industry and poor matches like this are not what he wants to be remembered for. Still, it was a tough situation for both and perhaps each man recognized that.

There's no word yet on why WWE didn't follow the standard protocol and send a doctor out during the match. Both men were reported to have collapsed after the bout with Goldberg's collapse being caught on video.
