After announcing that they'll be joining Impact Wrestling, some details about the Good Brothers' talks with AEW with are surfacing. as are details about the bridges they may have burned.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson almost never made it to Impact Wrestling. The duo announced that they've signed with Impact and will make their debut on tonight's Slammiversary show, but going to Impact wouldn't have been an option, had the team signed with AEW like they'd seriously considered doing.

While sitting down on their new Talk'N Shop podcast, the tag team interviewed Satin and told them there were times that they had considered asking for their WWE releases because they felt as though their prime years in the business were being wasted. They don't know if they ever would have actually asked because of the money they were making and having families, but they knew things were not going in the right direction.

Gallows then started telling the story of how they reached out to the Young Bucks because they'd heard rumblings of a new promotion, met in an Ontario, Canada mall food court and discussed all things AEW. That was around January 2019.

Even though the Bucks had laid out their entire debut on the premiere episode of Dynamite, there was some nervousness about whether or not AEW would make it on a television network. At the same time, Triple H was meeting with the team to say WWE wanted to keep them. Gallows then said that when it came to turning down a few million dollars over a few years, they wound up not being able to say no.

Do They Have Heat In AEW Now?

At that time, AEW did offer a good contract and The Young Bucks have arranged a meeting with Tony Khan. Unfortunately, they ended up signing with WWE first. The meeting never happened and both admitted that they probably now have some heat on them from an AEW perspective.

They said not taking the deal wasn't personal but they understand how after telling AEW for about six months they were coming, not going rubbed people in AEW the wrong way.
