Some very real heat could be sweltering between AEW’s Cody Rhodes and The Elite. The company’s Executive Vice President has been off Being the Elite for some time and has been focusing on his mid-card beef with QT Marshall.

It’s been suggested that his absence could be due to some issues between himself and The Elite. This is all just speculation for now, with no confirmation having come from AEW.

The Elite, inclusive of Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, is rumored to have exchanged some angry emails and messages with Cody. There’s also been talk of the former WWE star possibly being left off Being the Elite just because of the heat, with his mid-card feud said to be a means of ensuring he isn’t involved with the main event scene currently being controlled by said group.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp recently admitted to being aware of the rumors but couldn’t confirm anything as his sources within the company haven’t relayed as much.

“I’ve heard the rumors. I haven’t heard that from any talents. I haven’t heard that from any executives, but I’ve heard it’s worth me asking about,” he said in a Fightful Select Q&A session, per WrestleTalk.com. “It is not something that wrestlers are talking about and it’s not been something I’ve asked about a tonne.”

Could Be Nothing At All

While the rumored heat might actually be nothing, Sapp has noted that it could be worth looking into.

Cody’s absence could also be down to the fact that he’s soon to become a father and isn’t keen on spending more time working in front of the camera than he has to.
