Matt Hardy may have retired from in-ring competition, but it looks like it is far from the last we will see of him on WWE television.

When Matt Hardy first came up with his broken persona and introduced wrestling fans to it while he was at Impact Wrestling, a great many of us were desperate to see it come to WWE. At WrestleMania 33, he and his brother Jeff Hardy returned to WWE to a massive ovation, and the wait began for Matt to become broken once again.

Eventually, after a lengthy battle with Impact over who exactly owned the intellectual rights to the gimmick, Hardy returned to his broken state, this time labeling it as woken as to avoid any complications or confusion. Sadly, we haven't gotten to see as much of it in WWE as we might have liked. Hardy has presumably been forced to retire from in-ring competition due to ongoing issues with his lower back and pelvis.

Thankfully, it seems as if we haven't seen the last of Hardy and his Woken Warriors. Pro Wrestling Sheet has reported that WWE has given the green light for filming to begin on a pilot episode of House Hardy. The episode will be a Halloween special and will apparently be filmed in early October.

It has not yet been confirmed whether House Hardy will be an entire series or not, and WWE is presumably going to test the waters with this one pilot episode to begin with. According to What Culture, WWE recently sent out a survey to fans questioning what programming they would like to see on the Network and clearly, anything that incorporates the Hardy family has received positive feedback.

The news also explains the tweet Hardy sent out over the weekend stating that House Hardy will be "expecting guests in the near future." Hardy also wrote that Senor Benjamin should prepare the battlefield "if needed." If the House Hardy Halloween special is anything like other events that have been filmed on the Hardy compound, whether it be in Impact or WWE, then it will likely be extremely popular and inevitably commissioned for further episodes.
