A recent report suggests some WWE Superstars have considered using the three-strike Wellness Policy Violation rule to get fired. WWE is wise to what's going on and rumors backstage are that the tactic won't work.

It's no secret that a number of members of the current WWE roster aren't exactly happy. In just the last few weeks, Luke Harper, The Revival, Sasha Banks, and others have requested their releases or publicly discussed their dissatisfaction with their spot in the company. So too, a number of backstage producers and writers have been part of a mass exodus out of the company.

While there's no confirmation that any of the above-mentioned names should be associated with the recent rumors, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he knows of at least two Superstars who have tried to use WWE's three-strike policy on Wellness Violations to get fired.

He went on to add that he knows one Superstar tried hard to get fired this way while another thought about doing so but decided against it when Meltzer advised him the company was "wise" to the tactic and wouldn't actually fire people because of it. Instead, WWE was going to either not submit stars to a third test, or force them into rehab after the second failed test.

Meltzer basically said, “They’re not gonna fire you unless they want you to go.”

What This Means

Trying to get canned by violating a Wellness Policy or taking drugs or banned prescriptions to fail a test is an extreme that seems silly when you consider that these Superstars are merely trying to move on.

If there's any truth to what Meltzer is suggesting or any hint that this is really going on, WWE needs to come to some sort of middle ground with these unhappy talents they are “wise” to. Someone is going to get hurt if things don't get sorted out here and the company needs to realize they're doing something wrong when it comes to talent relations and communications.

For Superstars thinking this is a good idea, they should give their head a shake.
