This week's Raw has been met with mixed reviews by fans. Some liked the appearance from Hulk Hogan while others didn't, and the same goes for the news that Sasha Banks will be the next Superstar to get a shot at Ronda Rousey's Women's Title. As much as the McMahon family don't want you to notice for some reason, SmackDown Live hasn't been failing where Raw has recently, at least not nearly as much. The blue brand is only going to keep getting better in 2019 as we head towards Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and later this year its move to Fox.

Daniel Bryan Sort Of Has A Point

via wwe.com

The heel character Daniel Bryan is currently playing on SmackDown Live is somewhat rooted in truth. The man behind the wrestler does believe that humans aren't living sustainably and that they are destroying the planet. Yes, like any good wrestler he is turning it up to eleven, but he is still making some good points. While ridiculing fans at the concession stands on Tuesday night, he grabbed a soft drink that was in a plastic cup with a plastic straw. We really should be beyond the point where that's the case. Then again, if someone told us that in the way Bryan does while in character, it would likely just want to make us use more plastic simply out of spite.

Shinsuke Nakamura Sort Of Has A Point Too

via wwe.com

Rusev followed up an incredible Rusev Day where he won the United States Title with a pretty terrible one seven days later to ring in the New Year. A confrontation between him and Shinsuke Nakamura ended with Lana accidentally being laid out after she was squashed by The King Of Strong Style. Rusev came to the ring alone this week to address that, but Nakamura was ready and waiting in the TV truck with some footage. The clip showed that it was actually Rusev's fault that Lana got hurt last week. Not what The Bulgarian Brute wanted to hear which is why he went looking for his nemesis.

The Miz And Shane McMahon Might Soon Be Tag Champions

via wwe.com

The weird secondary storyline between The Miz and Shane McMahon has gradually been bubbling away under the surface. Well on this week's SmackDown Live, it well and truly went up a gear. After The Bar defeated The Usos, meaning the latter will now not get a shot at Sheamus and Cesaro's titles, Miz entered the fray. He didn't even wait for Jimmy and Jey to clear the ring. The Awesome One proposed that he and Shane O Mac get a shot at The Bar's Tag Team Titles at Royal Rumble. The pair considered it, Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick to Miz, and then they accepted the challenge.

Becky Lynch vs Asuka Is Happening After All

Shortly after TLC, WWE announced that Becky Lynch would be getting her title rematch against Asuka at Royal Rumble, or did they? Well, they did, but they didn't mean to. That's why the announced match was quickly deleted from our memories Men In Black-style and Carmella and Charlotte Flair were entered into the fray as equally viable challengers. The three of them competed in this week's main event on SmackDown Live for a chance to face The Empress at Royal Rumble. Would you know it, The Man came out on top. So the match that was previously announced and then scrubbed from the record is now definitely back on, or at least we hope it is.
