Is Hulkamania back? Rumors have been swirling around the internet recently about the WWE being in talks with Hulk Hogan. While some sources claim that the company is hoping for a return for WrestleMania 34, remaining Hulkamaniacs shouldn’t get their hopes up too much just yet. They have released a statement about the situation, but even though the talks have been confirmed, it’s apparently not for the reason everyone suspects.

Many of the fans in the WWE Universe would no doubt be excited to see the return of the Hulkster in some capacity, but given that his contract was revoked in 2015 after he was accused of uttering a racial slur on camera, it may be a while still before that happens.

The report from F4WOnline states that Hogan has agreed to appear at an upcoming WWE event being held in Los Angeles, California. For its part, the company has admitted that there have been conversations between the two parties, but they claim that no contract offer of any kind has been made. Hogan may still appear at the event, which is the premiere of HBO's Andre The Giant documentary as he was among the people interviewed for the film.

After almost three years of no contact with the former Superstar, the WWE stated that "We have had discussions with Terry Bollea about how he can help others learn from his mistakes, however, he is not under any contract with WWE." Despite this, word has been that the two parties have been waiting for an opportunity to renew their relationship, and Hogan has gone on record several times saying that he would be open to a return. In 2015, a sex tape featuring Bollea was leaked online. The WWE didn’t immediately react until it was revealed that he had made racially charged comments in the video. It was then that his Legends contract was terminated.

Thirty years ago, Hulk Hogan was professional wrestling. His exploits as champion created fond memories for young fans everywhere. After his retirement, it made sense to keep his legacy alive by putting Hogan under contract and wheeling him out every once in a while. Unfortunately, Terry Bollea has done a lot to tarnish his reputation, possibly forever. It may no longer be such a good idea to have him represent the company that made him immortal.
