Despite the ability of Hulk Hogan to put his foot into his mouth, he seems to often land on his feet. He's not currently welcome in WWE but he's about to enter mainstream headlines again as his story that made frontpage news a couple of years ago is about to be in the spotlight again.

In May of 2016, Hogan took on Gawker.com in a lawsuit that everyone was talking about. The often unethical website had published and refused to remove a secretly produced sex tape featuring himself and the wife of his then-best-friend, Bubba the Love Sponge. The video was leaked without his knowledge and after winning a $115 million settlement and a $25 award for punitive damages, Gawker crumbled under the financial pressure and eventually settled with Hogan out of court.

The story of Gawker's demise is now being developed by David A. Neuman’s Blackrock Productions as a feature film or limited series.

As is being reported by PWInsider.com, "Blackrock Productions has acquired the recently published book Conspiracy – Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker and the Anatomy of Intrigue, which reviews the series of events that led to the death of Gawker from the standpoint of Thiel, a silicon valley mogul, backing Hogan's lawsuit financially in order to push Gawker to the brink of financial ruin via the legal system."

Whether Hogan will be involved in the production in any way is uncertain but it's bound to keep him in the public eye for some time and for Hogan, that's good news. He's been seen recently online asking fans if they would like him to return to WWE and while the company hasn't publicly commented on Hogan's status, it is believed the bridge between the two sides is not completely damaged.

WrestleMania season is right around the corner and WWE often saves some of its biggest surprises for this time of year. Even insiders like Jim Ross have said that if Hogan isn't back sometime in 2018, he would be shocked. It will be interesting to see how the news of this story would be received by WWE. Is this good press or bad press and if bad press, does Hogan go back to being on the outs with Vince McMahon and company?
