Hulk Hogan will return to Raw this Monday so that he can pay tribute to his good friend 'Mean' Gene Okerlund.

Despite the year only being five days old, it has gotten off to a pretty terrible start in the wrestling world. That's because one of the first stories to break was the news that the legendary 'Mean' Gene Okerlund passed away at the age of just 76. As soon as people started to learn of the tragic news, tributes began flooding in for the WWE Hall Of Famer.

Mean Gene has been deservedly dubbed as the best interviewer in the history of the wrestling business. Okerlund first broke into the industry with the AWA all the way back in 1970 and worked with WWE as recently as 2018 for Raw's 25th anniversary. This Monday on Raw, WWE will pay tribute to the man who spent almost 50 years in the wrestling business.

On Friday, it was announced by WWE that Hulk Hogan will be on Raw this coming Monday to "celebrate the life" of his longtime friend. Hogan and Mean Gene's careers almost ran in parallel to one another when it comes to which promotions they worked for. Both started out in the AWA, moved to WWE, went on to WCW, and eventually returned to WWE after it bought out WCW.

Not only that but some of the most iconic wrestling interviews of all time feature Hogan with Okerlund holding the mic. When you heard the words "let me tell you something Mean Gene" then you knew The Hulkster was about to give one of his enemies a real dressing down. He and Okerlund had an incredible rapport and it's certainly fitting that Hogan will be on Raw to pay tribute to a man he shared a screen and a mic with on so many occasions.

Hogan's appearance on Raw will mark the first time he has been on the show in almost four years. In 2018, The Hulkster was reinstated into the Hall Of Fame and WWE brought him back into the fold following the controversy surrounding some extremely racist comments he was caught saying on tape. So far, his only appearance was as the host of Crown Jewel back in January. Hearing "let me tell you something Mean Gene" one more time will certainly get quite a pop on Monday night.
