Ice Cube has said that he's in Lamar Odom's corner, with the former Los Angeles Lakers forward looking to play in the BIG3, next season. But the founder of the three-on-three league has also revealed that he's got to try out like everyone else.
Odom is looking to make a huge comeback and even has aspirations to play in the NBA one more time. He also wants a stint in China before calling it quits altogether.
"Yes to playing for the @thebig3 next season right before playing the CBA 2019 season in China," he posted on Instagram early last month.
"Working hard right now to get my physical right ! you all know, my body has been through allot these years but I have been cleared healthy by my doctors to play again.
"There is no better way for me to retire from Basketball then to play one more time. My fans deserve it and I can't wait to play again.
TMZ Sports caught up with the celebrity recently and questioned him regarding Odom's future with the BIG3. Ice Cube insists he's rooting for the ex-NBA star, however, he isn't prepared to hand out any favors.
"He's still gotta try out like everybody else," he said.
What This Means
It's hard to imagine someone with Lamar Odom's skillset flunking BIG3 trials. The league's official Instagram account has also posted a video of the player working out in the gym and it isn't shabby at all.
Ice Cube isn't keen on giving him a free pass either, but him not making it is quite unlikely.
