The IIconics made their debut on WWE's main roster last week and in doing so, surprised the world by taking out Charlotte Flair less than 48 hours after WrestleMania and costing her the SmackDown Women's Championship. Their evil teamwork proved too much to handle and as a result, Carmella was able to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase and Peyton Royce and Billie Kay effectively put the whole division on notice, making a statement of epic proportions.

While the two are fresh off their NXT call-up, this is the kind of devastation fans can expect from the duo who have no ethical boundaries, pull no punches and make no bones about disturbing the peace. They'll likely target everyone in an effort to make a name for themselves and it should be fun to watch.

Here are the biggest reasons the Iiconics will be a huge deal on SmackDown Live.

SmackDown's Official Tag Team

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are really the first of the "tag teams" to hit the WWE main roster for the women. Absolution and the Riott Squad were factions, but few have viewed them as a team. Perhaps the closest are and were the Bellas, but even then it was mostly about Nikki and they are not around much in WWE these days.

With WWE teasing the idea of a Women's Tag Team Division, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay seem like the obvious choice to kick things off if WWE ever goes that direction. They work seamlessly together, are true partners and have been since debuting in NXT. There's likely no team that no each other better.

True Heels

Outside of the fact they are a team, the IIconics are really the only true heel team on SmackDown Live for the women. They may be one of the few women who can play the heel role without flip-flopping, which is often what WWE tends to do. Carmella may be the only other woman who is clearly better as a heel than a babyface, and that creates quite the opening for Royce and Kay since SmackDown Live will need heels to take on names like Naomi, Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Asuka.

There are other heel groups like Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, but The IIconics use true heel tactics to win matches. They cheat, they lie, they try to seduce their opponents and the refs, and there's no level they won't sink to get a victory. SmackDown Live doesn't have that type of female character on the roster. That will help them stand out.

The IIconics at NXT event

One of the things that make such tight-knit teams so fun to watch is the fact that there's always an underlying feeling that they could one day break up and if they do, the battle between the two former teammates would be epic. In this case, that would be "iconic."

WWE will give these two a long run as a team, likely holding some championships that they help each other win, but one day, that will all come to a head and one will turn on the other creating a scenario where they will need to settle their differences in the ring. Could Royce and Kay be the Michaels and Jannetty of their generation for the women's division?

The All-Around Package

Finally, what makes the potential for this team so great is that they are the all-around package. In a Women's Revolution that is more about wrestling than it ever used to be, not every female is a Barbie doll. That's totally fine, but the IIconics offer the in-ring talent, the mic skills to run down their opponent and the in-ring training from NXT to meet somewhere in the middle of the Revolution and the Attitude Era.

These features will make them brandable and sellable to any style WWE fan. Those who love wrestling, those who love the "bad girls," and those who love the gorgeous factor will have something they can cheer for in the IIconics.
