There are many interesting and exciting things happening in the world of independent pro wrestling right now, and outside of All In, the biggest may be Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager cruise, and Don Callis is teasing that it may be about to get much bigger on the Killing The Town podcast. Jericho officially announced that Impact Wrestling would be officially represented on the cruise, and now, Impact VP Don Callis (and all around fantastic wrestling mind) is teasing that there could be a showdown with Ring of Honor.

Due to his busy schedule, Callis hadn’t had much time to think about Sami Callihan’s recent comments about he and Impact being disrespected, but both Don and Ed Nordholm (Impact President) agree that Impact should be on the cruise, and now it’s become official. He said that Sami will be there (which is a scary prospect), and while there isn’t any other talent from Impact confirmed, he will work it out with Jericho, but went on to say that (in Callihan’s language) “If Chris and Ring Of Honor have the intestinal fortitude to step up and say, ‘Yeah we’ll accept that challenge’, I think it’s what’s best for the Jericho Cruise.”

Sure, it’s not WWE working with New Japan or anything like that, but with how interesting and unique the wrestling business has become, this is really exciting. If Impact continue this trend under Callis and Nordholm, they could be a major player in the US wrestling scene again. Obviously, we have to wait for Jericho and ROH’s response to this teased challenge before we get too excited, but after financing and selling out All In, we can hardly see the likes of The Young Bucks, Marty Scurll and Cody Rhodes backing down from a challenge.

So what do you guys think? What matches would excite you coming out of this challenge?(For me, I’d love to see Andrew Everett and DJZ battle The Young Bucks. Marty Scurll challenge Matt Sydal. Dalton Castle challenge Austin Aries. And I’d really love to see Hangman Page be the one to step up and take on Brian Cage). Is this something you’d like to somehow see streamed or filmed for later release? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
