Impact Wrestling has seemingly struggled to secure new stars over the past few years, especially after TNA originals like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, James Storm and Bobby Roode left the company. But over the past few months, they’ve seemingly turned a corner, and while displaying some of their new stars at Redemption on PPV, they introduced a brand new one. That new star would be Tessa Blanchard who is the daughter of the legendary Tully Blanchard of the Four Horseman. Tessa has become quite a star after her performances all over the independent scene as well as in her loss to Kairi Sane in the Mae Young Classic a year ago. With her pedigree and all the talent, she’s going to get a huge push in Impact.

Her arrival was somewhat odd as she just showed up on commentary during the Taya Valkyrie vs. Kiera Hogan match, so it didn’t result in a huge crowd pop. But the commentary team played it well, and their intentions of presenting the youngest Blanchard as a huge star was a major success. ‘The Diamond’ now looks set for a huge push in Impact Wrestling, and with the likes of Taya, Allie, Su Yung and Rosemary in the division, it’s going to result in some phenomenal matches.

This is quite odd timing though, as her boyfriend, Ricochet, just debuted for NXT and with the second Mae Young Classic likely coming in 2018, we all thought that she’d be a major part of that. But Tessa has other plans, and she’s betting on herself to succeed without the WWE, and that’s always something that performers should be proud of, and fans should embrace her in Impact. Blanchard may not be one of the best female wrestlers in the world in terms of pure in-ring ability, but she’s a fantastic character and she knows how to work. So whether it’s as a top heel or baby face (looks to be as a heel after her debut on Sunday), she’s going to do tremendous things for Impact, and we can’t wait to see it.

So what do you guys think? Do you like this move by Impact? Were you watching Redemption on Sunday? If so, what did you think of the show? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
