While faces come and go from promotions and rumors swirl about who might join Impact, WWE or AEW, one Impact star says he's not leaving anytime soon.

Rob Van Dam has reshaped his wrestling career as part of Impact Wrestling. Arguably more popular than he's been in years, he's one of the faces of the company in a time where names like Tessa Blanchard, Joey Ryan, Dave Crist, and Michael Elgin have been released and former WWE stars like EC3, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson might show up. Interestingly, Van Dam seems to be among the most stable of stars in that promotion.

Van Dam was recently asked where he's going to sign next and he said, "Staying with Impact for the foreseeable future. Is there such a thing as indies in 2020?"

Not only does this post suggest there won't be a Van Dam in AEW or WWE anytime soon, it makes you wonder if performers see the promotions in a different way than they used to. With the Internet and the current pandemic, there really isn't a huge difference between the shows and wrestling brands, other than the television network deals. No one is performing in front of large audiences, there is no live event touring and if you can get the product out to the fans, there's likely an appetite to consume the best content.

How Will The Industry Change After All Of This?

Another interesting question will be what happens to the industry when things settle down? There's been talk WWE might go back to live events, but also talk the company may eliminate it from their portfolio.

With the recent run of positive COVID-19 tests, it's hard to imagine fans being part of the shows in any major way anytime soon.

Does this put Impact and others promotions on more of an even playing field? Van Dam seems to think so.
