WWE's meeting with Impact Wrestling earlier this year apparently involved discussions about the latter being aired on the WWE Network.

The transformation, and pretty much resurrection, of Impact Wrestling over the past couple of years has been pretty remarkable. It really wasn't that long ago when we were basically all waiting for the day to hear of news that Impact was no more. Not that we wanted that to happen, it just appeared to be an inevitability.

However, after some name changing, channel hopping, and changes at the very top, Impact is still here today. In fact, it's in-ring product is currently pretty terrific. What the promotion is still struggling with is finding a good enough home for its weekly TV show. In January 2019, that show will move from Pop to Pursuit. We're not sure whether that will be a move forward or sideways at this point in time.

Higher-ups at Impact will not have jumped into bed with the first network that came knocking, though. In fact, according to Sportskeeda, the WWE Network was one of the possible landing points for Impact. The rumor dates back to the meeting between the two entities earlier this year. The details of that meeting were never revealed, and apparently, it might well have been to discuss Impact airing weekly on the Network.

Impact being on the WWE Network would have been a huge deal for the former, so what would WWE have reportedly gotten from the deal? Well, in turn, WWE would have owned a proportion of Impact and also had access to its library. That second point is a pretty big deal. With former Impact stars such as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe currently at the top of the WWE card, it must be a pain not to be able to include highlights from what was a large chunk of their careers.

This isn't the only rumor regarding potential Impact deals this week. It has also been reported that those in charge of the still non-existent All Elite Wrestling could have bought Impact but turned down the opportunity. Let's hope that the company's latest partnership with Pursuit is a good one because the two rumors above certainly seem like they would have been much better options.
