Jack Swagger has possibly spilled the beans on Dean Ambrose's future, seemingly confirming that the former WWE star will be heading to AEW as Jon Moxley.

Ambrose, whose name is actually Jonathan Good, appeared as Jon Moxley in a viral Twitter video following the expiration of his contract with WWE but it is still unknown what he plans to do.

The ex-Shield member has joined the cast of upcoming MMA movie Cagefighter but, where wrestling is concerned, there's nothing solid going around. It has been reported that he could choose to go to Impact Wrestling over AEW. However, Swagger has suggested that the 33-year-old has been in contact with Tony Khan's company but might not join until summer.

Swagger, a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, has been linked to AEW himself. Speaking on Ariel Helwani's MMA show, he appeared to leak an AEW move for Ambrose.

“I don’t want to step in Jon Moxley’s Shadow," he said at one point (h/t Wrestletalk.com). Rgar’s going to be a great debut for him. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that’s where we see him at.”

In a previous interview with Pro Wrestling 24/7, Swagger said he was not surprised over the fact that wrestlers have been looking to be released from their WWE contracts.

“No, it’s not a shock," he said (h/t Wrestling Inc.). They know exactly how they treat their talent. They know the contracts that they have assigned and they know exactly why we’re unhappy with the way they treat us. So it’s not a shock to me.

“I’m very thankful now looking back that I was able to leave when I did. I’m very thankful for my 12 years there because it allowed me to do so much. It allows me to do so much now because of my background, that notch on my resume, but at the same time there’s a lot of unhappy people there, and it’s not just because of the politics."

What This Means

It's possible that Swagger just got his words mixed up there but he should be in the know regarding most things AEW as he is close to many of the people involved with the promotion.

Ambrose would be a huge draw for Khan if he manages to land him, but it would also speak to the intent to present WWE with a serious rival since WCW so many years ago.
