Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is only in his third NFL season, but the 23-year-old has wasted no time stirring the pot with some good old trash talk.

Ramsey made a bold statement while talking to Mina Kimes in a recent ESPN The Magazine profile, saying he could make an NHL roster in six months. This is despite the fact that Ramsey has actually never played hockey before, so his comments were bound to get some responses from current NHLers.

Emily Kaplan of ESPN asked a number of NHL players for comment regarding Ramsey's claim he'd make an NHL roster in six months. Unsurprisingly, the players scoffed at what the Pro Bowler's bold statement.

The NHL's official Twitter page also shared a video of hockey players responding to what Ramsey said. Connor McDavid said it's not possible, while Winnipeg Jets star Mark Scheifele dared Ramsey to try, and that he'd love to play against the star cornerback.

Matt Duchene and Chris Kreider seemed baffled when told Ramsey had never skated before, with the former saying "Good luck." Seth Jones of the Columbus Blue Jacket said "it'd be easier if I had six months to play corner."

With all due respect to Ramsey and his strong confidence in being able to play hockey, it's probably wise to stick to football. He turns just 24 years of age in October, but Ramsey has already established himself as one of the game's elite corners.

Ramsey and the Jaguars were just a couple of plays away from winning the 2017 AFC Championship Game, and they're among the Super Bowl favorites in 2018. Is there really any reason for Ramsey to give up that opportunity to try out in a sport he's never played before?

You have to like Ramsey's confidence, but there's almost no way he'd crack an NHL roster in six months. It takes years to perfect the arts of skating, shooting, puck handling and hockey IQ.

There are only so many athletes who've turned professional in multiple sports, so don't bet on Ramsey going from the NFL to the NHL.
