There is still no word on when Jason Jordan might return to the ring despite him reportedly having a recent medical evaluation.

To fans who have been watching the business for a long time, it might feel as if wrestlers get injured a lot more often nowadays than they used to. While that does seem to be the case, technically, it's probably not true. The reality is years ago, wrestlers were more prone to work through issues and injuries rather than take some time off to recover from them.

If you step away from wrestling, there is the risk that your spot will be taken and things won't be the same when you return. Thankfully, the mindset has changed when it comes to weighing up those risks. That's why it can feel as if more injuries take place today. In actual fact, wrestlers and the companies they work for are just taking better care of them.

On the downside of that, it does mean some wrestlers are forced to retire earlier than they expected. It's for their own good, though. Take Paige, for example. 20 years ago she may well have carried on wrestling. That may have had an extremely negative effect on her life away from the ring. At the moment, while we really hope it doesn't happen, it seems like Jason Jordan might well follow in her footsteps.

Jordan has been suffering from a neck injury for pretty much the whole of 2018 and we still have no idea when he might return to the ring. PWInsider recently reported that the former Tag Team Champion underwent a medical evaluation, but still continues to work as a producer backstage in WWE. While it's great that he has something to do while sidelined, it's not a promising sign for his in-ring career.

2018 will have almost certainly have been a frustrating year for Jordan. His singles career had just started to take off as 2017 came to a close, but he hasn't had the chance to build on that. Hopefully, when it comes to his neck issues, WWE is simply holding its cards close to its chest. It would be a real shame to discover that at the age of only 30, Jordan was forced to retire.
