Jason Jordan hasn't been on WWE television since the Feb. 5, 2018 episode of Monday Night Raw, when storyline father and GM Kurt Angle sent him "home," after costing The Shield a match.

In reality, Jordan had to undergo neck surgery and has been out of action ever since. It's unknown when he will return to television, and it's been rumored that Jordan may never wrestle again.

But while Jordan continues to wait for the next step in his recovery, the former Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champion has managed to keep himself busy with a productive backstage role.

According to WrestleVotes, Jordan has been involved in "important creative meetings." On top of that, his input and suggestions have been "viewed in high regard."

So the 30-year-old Jordan has actually been a key figure backstage in WWE, amid a series of changes to creative - which included the recent return of prominent producer, Bruce Prichard.

Before Jordan underwent surgery and went on hiatus, he was working with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as part of The Shield. Jordan and Rollins even won the Raw Tag Team Championships at one point, but they dropped the titles to The Bar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

In Jordan's last appearance on WWE, he wound up costing Rollins and Reigns a Raw Tag Team title match. After getting himself into trouble, Jordan was ordered to go home by Angle, and that was the last time we saw him on television. Obviously, nobody knows what the future holds for Jordan as an in-ring performer, but at least he's found another way to contribute backstage.

What This Means

If Jordan ends up retiring from wrestling, he at least has another great job in the WWE lined up. It could be a similar situation to Paige's, where a neck injury forced her to retire - before she found the ideal role as the GM of SmackDown. But we'll have to wait and see how Jordan's recovery goes. He might just be back in the ring before long.
