Jeff Hardy was arrested in Concord, North Carolina on March 10th for drunk driving - and totaled his car after crashing it into a guardrail.

According to Andrew Ravens of eWrestlingNews.com, Hardy will have his driver's license suspended for 30 days, while police reported that the damages to the guardrail were $5,000.

He was originally to appear in court during this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, but he won the United States Championship over Jinder Mahal. Per Ravens, Hardy will now appear in court on May 14.

Shortly after Hardy's arrest, WWE released the following statement to WrestlingInc.com:

"Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions. We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials."

In Sept. 2008, Hardy got into a confrontation at the Nashville International Airport - when officials refused to let him board a plane. Hardy appeared drunk during the incident, but he was not arrested and cooperated to help resolve the matter.

A year later, Hardy was arrested for trafficking pills while being in possession of steroids. He received a 10-day prison sentence, $100,000 fine and was on probation for 30 months. This incident happened shortly after he left the WWE to nurse a string of injuries.

It remains to be seen if WWE will suspend Hardy for his March DUI arrest, but that looks unlikely now that he's the new United States Champion.

Hardy had been sidelined since September after suffering a bad shoulder injury - which forced brother Matt to revert back to singles competition. With his latest US Championship, Hardy became part of the exclusive Grand Slam Champion club.

But from here on out, Hardy will have to stay out of trouble. WWE's wellness policy has a "three strikes, you're out," rule, so a third arrest and conviction could result in the end of his career with the promotion.
