It's been over a month since Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Jimmy Butler requested a trade, but it may not be much longer until the 29-year-old finally gets his wish.

Appearing on The Lowe Post (h/t Michael Rand of the Minnesota Star-Tribune), ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski explained that he's expecting Butler to be dealt by the Timberwolves by Thanksgiving Day.

"If it's going as badly as it is, that more than anything else speeds up this trade process," Wojnarowski said. "I'd be shocked if he was there at Thanksgiving. It just feels like it will be sooner. Not only are they not winning, they're not playing well at all, they're getting booed every night at home."

This comes shortly after ESPN's Malika Andrews reported that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor emphasized to Butler that they're still working on a trade. Last month, Wojnarowski added that Taylor wanted a Butler trade done with soon, and he told other teams to contact him to negotiate a deal.

Butler requested a trade after reports came out that he was unhappy with the locker room environment in Minnesota. The four-time All-Star rejected a four-year contract extension worth $110 million in the offseason, and is expected to opt out of his contract after this season to enter the free agent market.

Wojnarowski reported last week that the Houston Rockets offered four first-round picks to Minnesota for Butler, but Andrews added that the T-Wolves want Eric Gordon in a return. Several weeks ago, Marc Stein of the New York Times said Minnesota rejected the Miami Heat's offer of Josh Richardson and a first-round pick for Butler.

The Timberwolves have set a high asking price for one of the game's elite defensive players and scorers, but Butler is 30 next year and can leave his team after this season. That could be why teams are weary of increasing their offers to land the standout All-Star.

But judging by the ever-reliable Wojnarowski's latest report, it may only be a matter of weeks until Minnesota finally honors Butler's trade request. It will have been two months by Thanksgiving since he asked for it.
