The rookie Mo Bamba proved to be a guy who cringes neither on nor off the court when he got into a social media feud with Joel Embiid.

On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers played their second preseason game beating the Orlando Magic 120-114, in a match where—as most of the NBA preseason games—nothing really happened. It was until after the game when things got interesting. Embiid took to Instagram to make fun of the number six pick in this year’s draft and his defensive skills.

Even when the Magic rookie had a decent game scoring 12 points in 16 minutes, to go with three rebounds and two assists, the Cameroonian dominated the game with 21 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in 22 minutes.

But Bamba retaliated, posting a photo in which he looks like he is posterizing Embiid —although it was just a contested layup, with the caption "welcome to the f*** league," referring to a moment this past summer when “The Process” shouted to him these words after dunking violently in front of him during a workout.

And of course, Embiid did what Embiid does and shot back, making clear that Bamba’s post was just a weird layup and continued to roast his defense; calling him "a BBQ chicken on the post.” To which the Texas product couldn’t disagree with, although he had to strike one last time.

These two big men seem to have started a nice friendship, which began during the last playoffs when Bamba would work out with the Sixers' star while he was waiting to be cleared after he fractured an orbital bone in his face. According to John Denton from NBA.com, both centers would retreat to Embiid’s house to watch game film, talk basketball, and life in the NBA; where the 20-year-old had the chance to learn from one of the best centers of the league.
