John Cena Officially Enters 2019 WWE Royal Rumble

Monday's Raw kicked off with one of the biggest names in the business as John Cena came down to the ring, discussed how excited he was to be back and officially entered himself into the 2019 Royal Rumble match.

Cena talked about finding himself on the road to WrestleMania and that he knows what it feels like to be left out when everyone is heading to the biggest stage of them all. Determined not to be left out again, Cena noted there's one match, one event that has the opportunity to guarantee being part of the biggest match at the biggest event of the year. That event is the Royal Rumble and by winning the battle royal, the winner gets a shot at the title.

With that, Cena announced he was entering himself into the match.

The announcement came with a thunderous ovation from the live crowd but the celebration didn't last long as Drew McIntyre came to the ring, called out Cena and suggested he was going to prove he was now the best in the business by taking out the best of all time.

As McIntyre was about to head to the ring to square off with and ready and willing Cena, Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush entered at the top of the stage to say that Seth Rollins had gone crazy backstage. Rollins came out to attack Lashley, which brought out Dean Ambrose and eventually Finn Balor, turning the chaos into a six-man tag.

What This Means

With Cena now in the Royal Rumble match, he becomes an immediate favorite. The question as to how much of a favorite he is will circle around his future plans after WrestleMania. If Cena is set to be part of the WWE all the way up to the biggest show of the year and for a while after, he could win it. If he's going to again leave to go to Hollywood, the likelihood is more that Cena enters the rumble and plays a role in someone else walking out with the victory.
