John Cena will be returning to WWE for a handful of dates in December, just a few days after the release of his new movie, Bumblebee.

John Cena has been ever-present in WWE dating back as far as 2002. Stone Cold has even labeled Cena's run as perhaps the greatest of all time. When you take into account his longevity and what he has achieved in that time, it's hard to argue with. During the 16 years he has been a WWE Superstar, he has been a World Champion 16 times.

That is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Cena's WWE accomplishments too. However, The Franchise Player has been easing off on the pro wrestling side of his career lately. Understandable considering his age, the length of time he has been wrestling, and the projects he has away from WWE. Cena may never be able to give it up for good, though.

In fact, thanks to PWInsider, we now know when Cena will be wrestling again. You'll have to buy a ticket if you want to see him, though. That's because the four dates currently announced will be live ones and not televised shows. The first is a Raw event on December 26, 2018, at Madison Square Garden. Cena will then join up with the SmackDown Live roster for the following two nights, and a third night on December 30, 2018.

Cena has made a habit of returning to WWE the day after Christmas Day for the last couple of years. It brings him back into the fold as the build for Royal Rumble begins and hence the road to WrestleMania. However, there is added incentive this time around. On December 21, 2018, Cena's latest foray into Hollywood is released nationwide in the US, Bumblebee.

Cena's next return to WWE will be an extremely interesting one. It will be the first time he has come back since refusing to travel to Saudi Arabia with the company for Crown Jewel. That issue has been swept under the rug somewhat. Prior to that, the 16-time champ promised that he will be at WrestleMania 35. Perhaps the seeds will be sewn for his role at that event when he returns in December.
