Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden made the bold choice to trade star pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears in exchange for two first round-picks, along third and sixth-rounders.

The Raiders are off to a horrendous 1-3 start, due in large part to an unproductive defense. Meanwhile, Mack and the Bears sit pretty at 3-1. The 2016 Defensive Player of the Year is off to an electrifying start, with five sacks and four forced fumbles through the team's first four games.

Before Sunday's game against the Cleveland Brows, Gruden went into his office and heard the news: Mack had another strip sack in Chicago's 48-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gruden had a hilarious response after hearing about Mack's big play.

"Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?" Gruden asked while meeting with Raiders assistants, per Michael Silver of NFL.com. "Are you ... kidding me?"

Yes he did, coach. Yes he did.

Mack registered a whopping 40.5 sacks in four seasons with the Raiders, quickly becoming one of the game's elite defensive players. However, Oakland wasn't willing to give Mack the monster extension he strongly deserved, and it led to a lengthy holdout from the 27-year-old.

The Bears wasted no time to get Mack under contract long-term, giving him a six-year extension worth $141 million, and thus surpassing Aaron Donald as the highest paid defensive player in league history.

Without a doubt, the Raiders are missing Mack's production. They sit 28th in yards allowed (402.5 per game), 31st in scoring defense (30.8 points allowed per game), and are tied with the New York Giants for fewest defensive sacks at five apiece.

Right now, the Gruden trade looks terrible for the Raiders. But nobody can scoff at the monster haul they got. If the Raiders can make the most of those first-rounders the Bears gave them, people won't be laughing at Gruden and the front office for long.
