Following the news that Jon Moxley will no longer be fighting Kenny Omega at All Out this weekend, it has also been revealed that the former WWE star won't be at Starrcast III either.

Fans were looking forward to Mox's match with Omega but will have to wait to see the AEW superstars face-off, with the former having announced that a staph infection will keep him away from the event.

Conrad Thompson dropped the news over his Starrcast no-show on Twitter on Thursday, claiming that Mox reached out to let him know that he won't be able to make it as soon as he was given certain instructions by his doctor.

“We received word today that unfortunately @JonMoxley won’t be able to travel to @StarrcastEvents," Thompson tweeted. "Once he got the word from his doctor he told us, “I’m sorry, this sucks.” I’m sure we all echo those sentiments. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him soon."

Thompson also assured persons who purchased tickets to meet Moxley that they will be refunded.

“Everyone who purchased his meet and greet has been notified via email," he wrote in a follow-up tweet. "Refunds will begin being processed tomorrow. His stage show has been cancelled and a new schedule will be released tomorrow.”

This is quite unfortunate for Mox and his fans. He had certainly been enjoying himself since leaving WWE, competing with both AEW and NJPW, as well as indie promotions. But he will have to chill on the sidelines for a while.

The 33-year-old has said that he hopes to be ready to return to the ring by the time AEW begins its TV show on TNT in October.

As for Starrcast, it will still feature an all-star cast of big names in the industry, most notably CM Punk. The event takes place this weekend at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Schaumburg, Illinois.
