In a recent interview with Gary Cassidy on Inside The Ropes, former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley said he would love to recruit WWE legend Christian to AEW, adding that the wrestler “looked frigging good” during his comeback in last month’s Royal Rumble. Both Moxley and Christian appeared in last year's Cagefighter: Worlds Collide, an action sports film written and directed by Jesse Quinones.

“I’ll tell you, a guy I’d like to see here is Christian. I don’t know if that was a one-off for him in the Royal Rumble but he looked frigging good to me, looked like he was in great shape, he looked sharp, man. I tell you, he’s one of the guys that’s – the wrestlers know it more so than anybody – Christian is so good. Like, his brain and his execution, and his mind for wrestling is just like next-level,” Moxley said.

Moxley said his admiration for Christian grew when he returned to feud with The Shield back in 2014. Christian joined forces with Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, and Rob Van Dam in several six-man tag team matches against The Shield. Moxley also said that Christian would enjoy a great amount of creative freedom at AEW, adding “that would be that would be my number one dream guy.”

Edge recently said he’d like to reunite with Christian in WWE again, an idea that Christian welcomed on The Bump. The 47-year-old Canadian wrestler made his debut in 1995. Three years later, he signed a developmental contract with WWF and was rebranded as Edge's in-storyline brother. In 1999, he won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. He also won the WWF Tag Team Championship with Edge seven times before parting ways in 2001.

After leaving WWE in 2005, Christian went on to perform at TNA, where he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice. In 2009, he returned to WWE, defeating ECW Champion Jack Swagger in his first match back. At Backlash on April 26, 2009, Christian defeated Swagger to win the ECW Championship.

Last September, at Clash of Champions, Christian attacked Orton during his ambulance match against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. He then appeared in the 2021 Royal Rumble match, entering at number 24 and lasting over 18 minutes before being eliminated by Seth Rollins. During the match, he briefly reunited with Edge, who would eventually win by defeating Orton.
