After suffering a nasty injury, there are reports that Kairi Sane's future in WWE is uncertain. At the very least, her status with the company is said to be complicated.

Fightful Select is using the phrase ‘pretty complicated’ when it comes to talking about the position of Kairi Sane in WWE these days. Having suffered a head injury after being thrown into the steel steps by Nia Jax during a RAW taping, Sane hasn't been back on WWE programming. What's interesting, is that her absence from WWE was apparently already being planned before the accident.

In May, there were plans for Sane to go to Japan and work as an ambassador for WWE. What that would have meant for her in-ring career was unclear but when asked if the plan was to include her as part of WWE's expansion into Japan, Fightful's sources indicated there is no expansion due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report continues that many who might know what's going on with Sane have gone ‘radio silent’. It is believed some wanted her to keep wrestling but the injury put a pause to that.

The good news is that no one is speaking negatively of Sane and that she's still well respected in WWE. WWE is not interested in releasing her or moving on, they just need to find the right role for her.

Sane Is An Underutilized Talent

While Asuka has gone on to show well in singles action as the new Raw Women's Champion, Sane has found herself caught in the middle, WWE having no real plan for her on television.

It's unfortunate because Sane is one of the best female talents in the company could cater to a huge audience considering her Japanese background. Hopefully, she heals up and WWE finds something useful for her to do.
