Earlier we reported that Kairi Sane's WWE contract was up and she wasn't going to sign a new deal with the company, however she has appeared on Monday Night RAW and even Extreme Rules: The Horror Show leaving Sane's status with WWE slightly confusing.

It had previously been reported that Kairi Sane was planning to move back to Japan and so would be finishing up her time at WWE soon. The plan to write her off television was allegedly to have Asuka's SummerSlam opponent take out Sane on her way out, thus building the match.

Sane appeared at Extreme Rules: The Horror Show to support Asuka in her match against Sasha Banks and was involved in some shenanigans that saw Banks leave the show with Asuka's title. On the following RAW, Kairi Sane faced Bayley with Shayna Baszler watching backstage.

How Will WWE Write Kairi Sane Off Of Television?

The plan has always been for someone to write Sane off of television, and Shayna Baszler is certainly a perfect heel to do so, sparking a programme with Asuka leading into SummerSlam. This is something very likely to happen on next week's show.

PWInsider have now confirmed that the recent set of tapings that include this week's RAW appearance, and next week's show are Sane's last for the company as an in-ring talent, as she has now finished with WWE.

As Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported, WWE are keen to keep her involved in an Ambassador role, and she is leaving on very much good terms. There's been no official announcement on this so it remains to be seen what Sane does next and whether it involves WWE in some capacity or not.

What Will Kairi Sane Do Next?

Those expecting her to go on to wrestle elsewhere may be disappointed however, as Sane reportedly plans to retire within the next year. She may do one last retirement tour, as other influential Japanese figures like Jushin 'Thunder' Liger have done, but she certainly is on her way out of in-ring competition altogether.
