WWE wrote Kairi Sane out of the current storylines on Monday night because her contract is up and she's headed back to Japan. With her time in WWE now over, she decided to say goodbye to fans and her WWE family. What's catching attention and drawing some heat, is when she posted that goodbye. Particularly, wrestling purists are not happy.

No one seems to be taking issue with the fact that Sane wanted to say goodbye to her fellow WWE Superstars. Her touching post on social media thanked everyone for the last three years, the great people she met, and how everyone took care of her both in front and behind the camera. It was great to see her so happy with what she accomplished.

The timing of her tweet seems to be the real issue.

Sane's tweeted was posted literally three minutes after she took a backstage beat down at the hands of Bayley. The tweet didn't mention the segment on Raw, or that fact she was apparently injured as per the show and from reading it, you would never know that Sane was trying to sell the beating. That's rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Both hosts of The Busted Open Radio podcast discussed how Sane didn't sell the segment and said it showed a total lack of respect to all the women that worked so hard to make that segment believable, specifically Bayley who now looks weak and Asuka who treated the moment as though Sane's injuries were overwhelming. After all, Asuka probably wouldn't have bailed on the Raw Women's Championship if Sane really wasn't all that hurt.

This isn't to say that either Bayley or Asuka have an issue, more that those arguing it was a mistake by Sane to post it feel bad for the two WWE Superstars left to try and make the storyline work now.

Wrestling Purists vs. New Non-Kayfabe Fans

The debate is that the tweet screams that wrestling is fake. While everyone knows that the entertainment product is scripted and pre-determined, completely ignoring what was done on television less than five minutes before her tweet was posted undersells everything that happened. There is a level of respect for the business there that Sane completely ignored.

At the same time, there are no secrets in wrestling these days and fans have had the curtain pulled back for years now. Is this really a big deal?

One thing is for sure. Considering the show was taped and she was probably watching at home, you'd think she could have waited a few hours or a day. Even 24-48 hours later, that post wouldn't have bothered so many people.
