It's been two and a half years since Glenn Jacobs, known as Kane in WWE, was voted as the new mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

With Kane enjoying a career in politics, his appearances in WWE have been (predictably) extremely limited. He's now 53 years of age, and it's easy to wonder if we've already seen the last of Kane in the ring.

He hasn't wrestled a match in over a year, and Kane hasn't worked a full-time WWE schedule since 2016.

In an interview with FOX Sports (h/t Andrew Ravens of WrestlingNews.co), the topic of his future in-ring career was brought up. The Big Red Machine wouldn't provide a conclusive answer, but he seems comfortable with the possibility that he's already wrestled his final match.

"You never say never in WWE," Kane explained. "But, at the same point in time, I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I’m comfortable not being in the wrestling ring. It’s hard work. I’ve also gotten to the age where a lot of times I’m like, 'Man, that looks like it hurts!' I used to be, 'Man, I wish I could be out there doing that!' Now I’m kinda like, 'Oooh golly. Those guys are a lot tougher than I am now.' Nevertheless, if the opportunity arises … well, you know, we’ll see."

The future Hall of Famer's last match took place against R-Truth on the Sept. 16, 2019 episode of Monday Night Raw. Kane defeated R-Truth to win the 24/7 Championship, but the latter regained the title later that evening.

Kane's longtime Brothers of Destruction tag team partner, The Undertaker, announced his retirement from wrestling on Undertaker: The Last Ride. But like Kane, the Phenom wouldn't fully rule out the possibility of returning for another match.

The Director of Operations was no longer needed in 2015

WWE will honor The Undertaker with a "Final Farewell" at next Sunday's Survivor Series pay-per-view. Kane, Savio Vega and The Godfather are among the special guests who will attend the Undertaker's sendoff.

Only time will tell if Kane is truly finished as a wrestler. Vince McMahon often does a great job in convincing his big-named legends to return for more matches, so don't be surprised if we eventually see Kane back in the ring.

If This Is The End, What A Career It Was

It doesn't matter if he wrestles again or not. Kane has nothing more to accomplish in WWE. His legacy as one of the all-time greats is cemented, with so many timeless matches and championship success. He's a lock to earn a Hall of Fame induction down the road.
