The Toronto Raptors Kawhi Leonard held a media conference in his new Raptors uniform, wearing the colors for the first time since the blockbuster trade.

A trade never really feels official until the pieces of that trade start to put on the new uniform. The trade that sent Leonard to the Toronto Raptors is especially that kind of trade considering it was a summer full of speculation he was to go to Los Angeles or Houston or a number of other teams, Toronto being well down on the list of potential landing spots. So, when Leonard and the Raptors held a media conference on Monday morning and Kawhi was dressed in his new Raptors silks, things got a whole lot more real.

Not one to smile much, Leonard looked all business as he posed for photos. And, while the Raptors might like Leonard to look happy in his new uniform, being all business is not exactly a bad thing. The former San Antonio Spur is known for having a fairly serious approach to everything and has one more year before his contract expires and he becomes a free agent. This is going to be a huge year for Leonard and for the Raptors and the team will need him at his absolute best.

The good news was, later in the press conference, Leonard did crack a smile and laugh so he wasn't completely serious all the time. Hopefully, for Toronto, that's a sign he's comfortable in his new uniform and decides he might want to stick around for more than just this season. Rumored to want to play in Los Angeles, the Raptors took a pretty big risk they were putting this jersey on Leonard for only one season.

Recent speculation is that the Raptors might have interest in newly available Jimmy Butler out of Minnesota. If they can put a Raptors jersey on Butler too, that might help Kawhi make up his mind when it comes time to stay or go.

He might even smile more.
