One of the WWE’s biggest new talents was in attendance at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II on Saturday.

Former indie wrestler "Limitless" Keith Lee recently signed to NXT, was pictured at the event and has presumably left fans brimming with excitement as he gets set to kick off his career with the company.

Lee had been one of the biggest names on the indie scene for quite some time. So the WWE moving to get him on their books does make sense.

The former Ring of Honor performer and one-time XCW Heavyweight champion also cut his teeth in promotions such as EVOLVE and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He fought Kassius Ohio in an NXT appearance on April 5, 2018, during WrestleMania Axxess weekend and set tongues wagging as rumors of a WWE deal became rife among fans and outlets alike.

Less than a month later, the 33-year-old put pen to paper on a developmental contract with the WWE.

Despite signing on with NXT, Lee was to complete his dates with PWG before reporting to Orlando, Florida. His tryout garnered mixed reviews, however, with WWE officials concerned about certain aspects of his wrestling, particularly his penchant for executing dangerous moves— especially for someone his size.

They obviously weren't willing to let such a name escape, though, and decided that the way forward would be tailoring his game. But that could prove difficult given his personal liking for his own style.

"First of all, I'll say that for me personally, I feel like the things I do can be considered impressive regardless of my size, to be honest," he said in an interview with ESPN last year. "I've always been an athlete. I've always loved the more athletic-style approach to things."

It could be quite the transition for the big man, and he will have to display some humility as the rules are vastly different when working under the WWE. Lee will also have a few people to answer to and the standards should be markedly higher, so his success will depend on how malleable he is as a WWE and NXT newbie.
