After three decades of wrestling that put plenty of stress and pain on his body former WWE and WCW icon Kevin Nash recently underwent surgery to replace his right knee—and he shared photos of the operation and the scar on his Instagram page.

Nash required 24 staples to close the wound, and you can only imagine the amount of pain he's going through right now.

The WWE Hall of Famer was plagued by knee injuries from the beginning of his athletic career. Nash played basketball at Tennessee and played professionally in German, before the knee injury forced him to give up the game.

The 6-foot-10 Nash then made a turn to pro wrestling, making a name for himself as 'Diesel' in the WWF. Nash then spent his best years in WCW - where he formed the New World Order alliance with Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall.

During his career, Nash suffered numerous injuries - including a biceps and torn quadriceps injury that kept him out of action for nine months and ended much of his return to the WWF in 2002. And while working with TNA (now Impact Wrestling), Nash suffered a bad neck injury that kept him out long-term.

Of course, Nash isn't the only retired wrestler that's had to undergo major surgery. Both Mick Foley and The Undertaker recently had hip replacement surgery, after decades of bumps and bruises on their bodies. Give guys like Nash, Foley and 'Taker credit. They're tough as nails and put their body through pain for our entertainment.

Nash has been confirmed to attend the Raw 25th Anniversary special on Jan. 22 at Madison Square Garden. He last appeared on WWE programming at WrestleMania 31 - appearing with Hall and Hogan to help Sting out in his match against Triple H, who got outside interference help from D-Generation X.
