Kevin Owens is tweeting his return to WWE is not far off. He's been getting in some reps at the WWE Performance Center, the latest against Adam Cole.

The long-awaited return for Fight Owens Fight seems like it might be drawing near. There was speculation Owens might return to WWE at the Royal Rumble this past weekend, but that didn't happen. Instead, Owens is still training, preparing for his in-ring return. He tweeted that he's getting closer.

"I just wrestled @AdamCole Pro for the first time in 4 and a half years. There was exactly one spectator," Owens writes. He then adds, "He gave it 51.25 stars."

Undoubtedly, that match would have been a classic.

Owens is one of the better in-ring workers in WWE and certainly one of the best talkers in the business. He's been missed since going down to an injury and the last the WWE Universe has seen of Owens, he was attacked by Bobby Lashley, which apparently signified an Owens babyface turn for when he eventually came back to get retribution. What's interesting is that Lashley is now the Intercontinental Champion.

There are murmurs that while Owens will be ready sooner than WrestleMania 35, it may be that he does not make his return until after the event. If so, this would be for storyline reasons and to add the Monday night after WrestleMania which is a show full or returns and surprises.

What This Means

It's great news for WWE fans that Owens is about ready to make his return. It will be interesting to see how the company works him back into programming and whether or not he has anything going on with his best friend Sami Zayn, who was also written off TV via Bobby Lashley and recently returned to training at the Performance Center too.

Will they return together? It would make sense to do so as they're both quite popular and the same WWE Superstar took them out.
