Not long after extending Brock Lesnar, WWE has signed Kevin Owens to a new five-year contract with the WWE, he told Pat Laprade of TVA Sports.

Translating the French interview to English, Owens said he "didn't intend to go anywhere," and that his family is fully prepared for him to continue his career with the WWE. He didn't specify details of the contract, only that the five-year pact was signed very recently.

It's obviously wonderful news for the WWE Universe, Owens and his family. K.O. turned 34 years of age today, so it's quite the birthday gift to get a long-term extension with the world's largest wrestling promotion.

Since coming onto the main roster three years ago, Owens has been one of the most successful and decorated superstars of this era. He was the second-ever Universal Champion, owns a trio of United States titles and has held the Intercontinental Championship twice.

With superb microphone skills and incredible in-ring talent, Owens is one of the WWE's most complete talents, and having him locked up for five more years is a sign that Vince McMahon sees more big things in the Quebec native.

Owens has shown his ability to go up against some of the top talents in history, including John Cena, Shane McMahon, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho and AJ Styles, among others. He's moved down the card since losing his Universal Championship to Goldberg last year, but Owens remains one of the top talents on today's roster.

Recently, Owens and fellow Quebecer Sami Zayn have worked together as a tag team, as the duo moved over from the Monday Night Raw brand in the Superstar Shake-Up. Owens has all the tools to be one of the top faces of wrestling for years to come, so the five-year extension is well-deserved.
