Khalil Mack has recorded a sack and a forced fumble in all three NFL games this season. The only other person to do so was, in fact, Kahlil Mack. The last time he accomplished that feat was in Weeks 12-14 in 2016 NFL season.

With every passing week, Mack looks more like a good bet for the Bears and Jon Gruden looks more and more like he made a massive mistake. The Oakland Raiders are now 0-3 to start the season and they certainly could have used one of the best players in football and an All-Pro pass-rusher in Mack. Instead, they traded him to the Chicago Bears after failing to come to financial terms on a new agreement. Gruden says he doesn't regret the trade but Mack is making it hard for anyone to believe since he's single-handedly been a force for the Bears so far in their short 2-1 season.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Mack is finding success. Taken fifth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Mack has reached the Pro Bowl in his last three seasons and won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2016. In 2015 he actually made the All-Pro team at two different positions, credited as both an outside linebacker and as a defensive end. His resume speaks for itself.

With that in mind, he was not the type of player anyone should have expected would be traded out of Oakland over money. During his time with the team, he posted numbers that included 304 tackles, (more than 40 of which were sacks), 11 pass deflections, one interception, one defensive touchdown, and nine forced fumbles. He was a star that deserved a star-caliber payday.

While things couldn't be worked out with the Raiders, after being traded, Mack and Chicago agreed to a record-setting six-year contract extension worth $141 million. It was the biggest deal in NFL history for a defensive player. So, in a way, Mack is used to breaking records.

Perhaps the question isn't how he was able to tie his own record, but if he can break it in Week 4.
